Delta Halo: Two Armies Chase the Sacred Icon
Regret’s retreat from Earth leads the UNSC In Amber Clad to Installation 05, where human and Covenant forces immediately begin competing for control of another Halo. This episode examines the parallel campaigns of the Master Chief and the Arbiter as each side pursues objectives whose true consequences are only partially understood. The Chief assaults Covenant positions and kills the Prophet of Regret, while the Arbiter is sent to recover the Sacred Icon—the Index required to activate the ring. Delta Halo is already suffering from a long-contained Flood outbreak, making the installation even more unstable than Alpha Halo had been. The human force is small, the Covenant is politically divided, and the ring’s own Monitor has failed to maintain effective control. Both armies believe possession of the Index can decide the campaign. Instead, their pursuit helps bring the Covenant’s internal crisis, the Flood, and Halo’s firing sequence together in one battle.
