Infinity on the Run: Resistance to Cortana’s Peace
UNSC Infinity becomes a mobile resistance headquarters after Cortana’s Guardians break the communications, command systems, and fixed bases on which conventional military power depends. This episode examines how humanity adapts to fighting an enemy that can neutralize entire fleets simply by locating them. Infinity remains in motion, minimizes detectable communications, searches for allies, and conducts operations through a galaxy where any major concentration of force risks attracting a Guardian. Halsey and senior commanders begin developing a plan centered on a new AI derived from the same cloned-brain architecture that produced Cortana. Supplies, intelligence, and secure operating areas become increasingly important as the UNSC shifts from dominant postwar power back toward the methods of an insurgency. The irony is severe. Humanity spent decades fighting colonial rebels who avoided conventional battle against a stronger government; now the UNSC survives by using many of the same principles against Cortana.
