Operation WOLFE: Returning to Reach
Seven years after Reach fell, Blue Team returns to the glassed world on a mission whose objective reaches directly back to Catherine Halsey’s Spartan-II research. Operation WOLFE sends John-117, Fred-104, Kelly-087, and Linda-058 into the ruins of CASTLE Base to recover cryogenically preserved material needed for Halsey’s plan against Cortana. This episode examines the difficult insertion by UNSC Infinity, the mass deployment of Spartans and ODSTs, and the Banished presence already operating across the planet. Reach is no longer simply a graveyard. Banished and Keepers of the One Freedom forces are searching for a portal connected to the Ark, creating a second strategic contest beneath the ruins. Blue Team completes the recovery that will help produce the Weapon, while events elsewhere allow Atriox to return from the Ark to the Milky Way. Operation WOLFE therefore contributes simultaneously to humanity’s plan against Cortana and the return of the commander who will soon ambush Infinity at Zeta Halo.
