Grenades, Equipment, Energy Shields, and Battlefield Gadgets

Not every piece of battlefield equipment is a primary weapon. Grenades, shielding systems, sensors, mobility devices, and deployable equipment can determine whether a soldier reaches the position from which the decisive shot becomes possible. This episode examines fragmentation, plasma, spike, and other grenades alongside active camouflage, portable shields, threat sensors, grappleshots, repulsors, thrusters, drop walls, and related equipment. Each changes the geometry of a fight. A grenade forces enemies from cover. A shield creates temporary terrain where none existed. Active camouflage allows movement through areas that would otherwise be observed. A grappleshot turns vertical distance into another route of attack, while a repulsor can redirect threats or create physical separation. Energy shielding deserves special attention because it fundamentally changes infantry survivability, first giving Covenant soldiers a major advantage and later becoming central to Mjolnir. Battlefield gadgets matter because combat is not just about who has the strongest gun. It is about who can create the conditions in which their weapons work best.
