The UEG and Its Colonies: One Humanity, Many Grievances
The Unified Earth Government claims to represent humanity across Earth and the colonies, but distance, economics, and political power make that unity far more fragile than the name suggests. This episode examines the relationship between Earth, the prosperous Inner Colonies, and the more distant Outer Colonies that supplied resources while often receiving less political influence and security in return. It explores how colonial administration, corporate interests, local governments, the Colonial Military Administration, and eventually the UNSC created overlapping systems of authority that could look very different depending on where a citizen lived. To supporters, the UEG provided stability and the infrastructure needed to hold an interstellar civilization together. To many colonists, it represented distant rule backed by soldiers and intelligence services. Those tensions produced the Insurrection long before the Covenant appeared and never completely disappeared afterward. Humanity entered its war for survival already arguing over what political union was worth defending. Visit ImaginedBattlefield.com for more military and science fiction.
